Recipe: Nut & Seed Butter

Peanut butter is a great addition to morning toast. But like most things you buy in a supermarket, there are loads of nasties often hiding inside. You can make a ‘butter’ out of any nut or seed, and they are actually fantastically easy to make. We highly recommend pumpkin seed butter, not only because we have just got these in on a latest ‘Bulk Buyers’ order, but also because it is super nutritious and tastes amazing. Almond butter works a treat too!

Nut / Seed Butter

Ingredients to make 2 cups:
3 cups of pumpkin seeds
2 tablespoons neutral oil of your choice,
plus additional as needed
Try adding salt, pepper or ground spices for exciting flavour variations.

Combine all ingredients in the bowl of a food processor and process, stopping occasionally to scrap down sides, until desired consistency is reached. Add more oil by the tablespoonful as needed if the butter is too dry.
